Designed by Jens Risom for his eponymous Design Company in 1959 is this Group Nine rosewood credenza. Jens Risom was born in Denmark and moved to the US in 1939 where he soon began working with Hans Knoll. In 1946 he established Jens Risom Design.
This sideboard has beautiful rosewood veneers throughout, including the back, as these pieces were designed to be able to be used away from the wall. The aluminium and black metal Y handles are a particularly striking feature. The rosewood legs feature aluminium individually adjustable feet so uneven floors are not a problem.This credenza is arranged with two banks of four drawers either side of a middle shelved section which has two rosewood shelves. Excellent condition throughout.
